Advanced Explorers
4th - 5th Grade

Advanced Explorers engages 4th–5th grade children in meaningful food learning through two units that explore how food connects to the environment and build more advanced culinary skills. Advanced Explorers includes two curricula: Environmental + Physical Connections to Food and Culinary Skills, Careers + Recipe Creation. These units help children learn about food waste, sustainability, and the physical journey of food while preparing multi-step recipes, and they refine their cooking techniques as they explore STEAM careers and create an original class recipe using concepts of flavor and nutrition. Educators receive the full printed curriculum along with a Food Explorers Kit that includes all essential non-disposable materials needed to teach the program.
